The Existence is More than what It appears to be
"And it was probably perfectly predictable that the first life form that became self-aware (us) would mistakenly think that the consciousness that it became aware of belonged to itself alone and not to the universe as a whole. So now we are in the perfect position to move beyond that mistaken identity, to see ourselves as both separate and whole and to create a future that reflects both."

the opening sentence is quite delicious....
explaining the origins of our self-importance and our narcissistic tendencies
because we forget, as the Sufi's say, we can forget,
to remember what is of the Real Importance,
so when we do remember, we see immediately, that our life is not about ourselves alone..rather,
our existence always has to do with being in the Real all the way, entirely hooked up to the Stream and offering contributions for all who are living here.....

Forrest it is so good to see you blogging (and not just because you quoted me) this is a great medium for you.
Our narcisissim as postmodern humans makes so much sense when we think of it in the context of, as you put it, the Real. Imagine how much effort our far distant ancestors had to put into breaking out of the mentality of herds and tribes that so that we could be narcisisstic.... We are the beneficiaries of all that effort.
always appreciate to be reminded about the 'post-modern narcissism'... bc all the issues that come up that are personally significant, always have company...
we are so not alone
